Club Mission Statement

The School of Hope, Hands of Hope Social Justice Club is a volunteer student led group. It is made up if like-minded students who are passionate about walking in The Light of Christ. By acts of Service we strive to affect a change for the better in our community, country and the world.

We are a group of Junior and Senior High students from School Of Hope who aspire to make a difference in our world!

We are a relatively new club, so many of our projects have just recently started up.

We have raised enough funds to sponsor a young girl in need in Nicaragua for a couple of years. Her name is Marcela and she is now 5 years old.

We have also helped Tears of Joy Ministry (a society that provides aid, empowerment resources… to those who need it most) and Bear Valley Rescue (A local Alberta horse rescue who saves horses from horrible, abusive… situations)

For the past couple years we have created and led liturgies (Easter and Christmas) every year for our school community.

Some of our past projects have helped raise awareness about the Holodomor (Ukrainian Famine Genocide), Memorial Day, and  the Normandy Beach Anniversary. We held a Book-a-Thon to raise awareness about human trafficking and provided funds to help end this terrible travesty. We issued a Christmas challenge for our students and families to support their local food banks and other programs that help those in need.

We are always brainstorming on other charities or causes where we could help. Please let us know your thoughts. We are open to any suggestions you may have! Just leave a comment in the box at the bottom of this page!
